Q-7790 is new in handhelds. Retro Handhelds identifies it as Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 architecture, Adreno 722, and performance between Snapdragon 865 and 8 Gen 2 (RH spec guide). That is why Duo undercuts AYN Thor Pro money without pretending to be an Odin 3.

QCS6125 is Snapdragon 662-class. Retro Handhelds compared it to the chip in the Mangmi Air X: fine through PSP, 3DS is mixed, PS2 is not the job. Retroid posted Azahar Mario Kart at 2x on an engineering unit; that is a demo, not a review.
Should you preorder?
Preorder Duo if dual 120Hz AMOLED and Q-7790 at $249 is the gap you wanted below Thor. Preorder Lite if you want a Retroid clamshell in hand the week of September 17 and will accept TFT + 662-class silicon. Skip both if you only play DS — the RG DS Plus is $85–$95 Linux with 4x integer screens (launch coverage). Skip both if you need Snapdragon 8 Gen 2: that is still Thor / Pocket 6 / Odin 3 money.
Codes stack only if you order both SKUs in one cart and enter DUO and DUOLITE (Retroid's own checkout note, via RH).
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the Retroid Pocket Duo?
$269, or $249 with code DUO until October 15, 2026, from GoRetroid. One SKU: 8GB + 128GB. Shipping is extra.
When does the Pocket Duo Lite ship?
September 17, 2026, per Retroid's store note. The Pocket Duo follows in mid-October.
What chip is in the Pocket Duo?
Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 with Adreno 722. Retro Handhelds maps it to Snapdragon 7 Gen 4-class silicon, faster than Snapdragon 865 and slower than Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Is the Pocket Duo Lite good for PS2?
No. QCS6125 / Adreno 610 is Snapdragon 662-class. Treat Lite as DS-layout Android through PSP and lighter 3DS. Buy Duo, Thor, or Pocket 6 for PS2.
Pocket Duo or AYN Thor?
Thor if you want Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 dual-screen. Duo if $249, 120Hz AMOLEDs, Android 16, and a mid-October ship date are enough. Thor Lite ($249-class Snapdragon 865) is the closer price rival.
